Is anyone in the connecticut area looking to get together & do some feedee/feeder things together?

Well damn, my wife and I just moved out of CT a few months ago. We lived in Litchfield county also. We are both mutual gainers. Well, I'm more so trying to catch up to her for now. Anyway, we do head back to CT from time to time. It's always nice to find people of similar interests to talk to.

everyone seems to be leaving connecticut! Its really expensive to live here. Let me know when y'all do come to visit. I'm always down to meet new friends in the community.

LetMeEatCake:
Yeah man more people moving out than moving in.

That has been the recent trend. With the cost of living being so high. Granted we just moved to Cape Cod because my wife got a good job here. But, the cost of living isn't any cheaper than CT. It's about the same really. It sickening how much cheaper other states, like say TN, GA, or other southern states are compared to New England. But, I also love CT and New England, so it's a hard choice to leave all we love and family, but be able to afford a much better life... :/

We moved basically for the same reason. We had a condo there and the area became really bad (police there all the time, ambulances, fire dept etc...yes, there was always some sort of fire there) and the only places there that we could afford was also in not so great neighborhoods so my husband got a job in VT and the price of living is actually better here, but we’ll see how long that lasts. All of our family already left ct before that but you know I really do miss ct. They had some really amazing restaurants there.
Oh I hear you! We can't find good pizza to save our life here on Cape Cod. Not that compares to CT pizza in any way. Funny enough, my family came over from Italy back in the day. Lived in NYC. The Bronx and Yonkers. They all migrated out for many of the reasons you said. It got dangerous and also expensive. Some went upstate NY the rest, including my parents, went to CT. Which were all fine well and good for them, still is. But for us younger generations with how crap income is and expensive cost of living is. Trying to pay $1500 rent, car, and all other bills on even 2 incomes can be hard stuff. Nothing compared to what it was like in the 70s-80s.
My wife went to school in VT as well as my youngest brother. So we are familiar with it. Also, my grandparents lived in Plattsburgh. Yeah, I can see where the restaurant situation wouldn't compare to CT, lol. Hell, even Cape Cod where we are, has tons of great restaurants. But, there are just some things, like pizza, that are still hard to find and to find good examples of. Thankfully, we go back to CT to visit the family and pick up some good food before we leave, lol.

I’m actually from nyc born and raised and Pepe pizza is my favorite pizza. Good pizza is so hard to come by here that my husband (who is a feeder) trained himself to make pizza just like back home and it really is better than anything here. We really need to open a pizza place here lol.
Yes! lol I have often done the same. I mean I am 100% Italian if I didn't know how to cook I think I get whacked, lol. Cooking in my family is something everyone learns. I remember being just a kid and watching my grandmother and grandfather taught me how to make gravy. Yes, we Italians from NYC call tomato sauce gravy smiley Which I am sure you've heard growing up in NYC. Seriously, you should open a pizza place! It is so hard to find a legit good place I am sure it would be a great success in VT!

Yes, very true. Now, the seafood of course is amazing! I found this nice little shanty right on the water in Dennis. Amazing fried seafood! I love seafood, so am happy with that change. But, Pizza! it's like just one of those foods that you have to have a place you like. There is a place in Hyannis, right on Main St called the Brazilian Grill. It's all you can eat. They have a salad bar, but you get to order unlimited side dishes and the people come around with freshly cooked meats and give you as much as you want. They have 16 different things they bring from table to table. It's quite a great experience. A little pricey, but all you can eat! So come hungry! smiley
